WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT RYAN’S DISAPPEARANCE?

Ryan’s home town is Beaumont, Alberta. He had moved to Sun Peaks in December 2017 with his best friend; both had intentions to work through the winter season.

Ryan worked the day of Friday February 16th, 2018. He went home after work to the residence he shared with his roommates. Later that evening, they went as a group to a Silent Disco event hosted by one of the local pubs. Much later in the evening the group left the pub to attend a party at a residence just a few minutes away from their own. This was in keeping with Ryan’s ordinary behaviors – he socialized with his friends and was not given to going off without them.

One of his roommates grew tired and left the party to walk home. A short time later his second roommate also decided to go home. Ryan was seen standing up — it was believed he was putting on his coat and shoes. That roommate left the party with the belief that Ryan was right behind him. The time was approximately 2:10 AM on Saturday February 17th, 2018.

When Ryan’s roommates discovered Ryan had not shown up for his regular shift at work on Saturday February 17th, 2018, they contacted police and filed a missing person’s report. Missing work was out of character for Ryan. Ryan has not used his cell phone or been active on social media since he was last seen by his second roommate immediately prior to him leaving the house party.

WHAT WAS RYAN WEARING AT THE TIME HE WENT MISSING?

Ryan was wearing dark jeans, a white and gray t-shirt, a navy blue jacket, grey vans shoes and a burgundy coloured ball cap as shown below. The logo on the ball cap is unique to the rugby team he plays on and reads: Nor-Wester Athletic Association.

Ryan is 20 years old with blonde hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO TRY AND LOCATE RYAN?

Ground searches have taken place every day since Ryan was reported as missing.

There have been three formal searches involving RCMP and Kamloops SAR that included canine units, drones with infrared cameras, snowmobiles, the RCMP’s AIR 4 helicopter and upwards of 40 – 60 SAR technicians and 70 volunteers.

There have also been informal searches carried out by Ryan’s family, friends, and local residents on a daily basis. March 7th through 9th, 2018 the  Canadian Search and Disaster Dogs Association (CASDDA) arrived and searched for Ryan.
